Styling A One Shoulder Maxi Dress
if you are going to go bold, own that look.
Can you believe that we have turned a major corner during this panorama (aka pandemic aka C-19)? I can’t believe that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recently made a MAJOR update to the C-19 restrictions by lifting the mask mandate nationwide for fully vaccinated individuals. I was like what?! Well, the streets have been calling my name those streets being my inner wanderlust. As of May 16th, 2021, according to the CDC, if you are two weeks post being fully vaccinated, you can go maskless! Like what?! You can find a thorough report of this update from the CDC here. This update is so encouraging in this global fight against this pandemic and especially encouraging as a frontline worker. It is such a relief to know that all that effort we poured into caring for the sick and the PTSD we sustained was not in vain. However, if you are not vaccinated for whatever reason, you are still encouraged/required to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and adhere to the C-19 restrictions as outlined by the CDC. For those who love science, such as this nerd here, the CDC has put together an excellent in depth resource you can find here. And if you really love literature, the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine published this great article that supports the vaccines efficacy. You can find that here. Now we can check out of APRN and doctoral student Nonee and check into style maven Nonee, hello!
Last Spring/Summer, Target debuted a collaborative line with a handful of badass female designers including Cushnie, LoveShack Fancy, and Lisa Marie Fernandez. Although I had absolutely nowhere to go last year, I had to have this polka dot number by Lisa Marie Fernandez x Target. If you are a Target stan like me, you would know that for years Target has collaborated with incredible luxury fashion houses like Missoni and Phillip Lim to bring that luxury aesthetic to the everyday gal or guy at affordable prices. Let us take long moment to slow clap for whoever came up with that transcendent idea. Shout out to you! I have learned so much more about fashion as a result of these collaborations. Notably, the current collaboration is with Christopher John Rogers, Alexis, and Rixo. I’ve linked my favorite pieces still available below. Scroll down for more…

This gorgeous polka dot yellow dress is not only a perfect hue against my complexion, but is also so forgiving and ultra chic. Recently, I have been working on pairing down my closet significantly. I feel as though I am finding it very challenging. I am learning that staple neutral pieces are essential. They literally go with everything. I love this simple white clutch that I have paired with these white pumps. It is not an overbearing pairing by any means. If you were a bright yellow dress with polka dots, let the dress just be the star of that show. I’ve learned so much about myself in the last year. I’m slowly but surely letting go of the noise that clutters my brain and life and getting to this sincere part of me. A part of me that is dedicated to loving self first. It is a beautiful place. Love others, but love yourself thoroughly and wholeheartedly first. With that, until next time, big bisous!
