How to Wear A Monochromatic Look?

How obnoxious is Facebook memories you guys? Like seriously! For the most part, I love looking back at old moments but most of the time, my captions are like, really, you said that?!!! Omg so embarrassing! One thing I’m thankful for though is, it’s rare I look back and wonder what I was wearing! I’ve always been into fashion and I’ve had a very clear point of view in that regard for as long as I can remember!

Lately, I’ve really been into monochromatic looks! I love wearing a single color and spicing up the look with texture and prints. Although simple, this is one of my most daring looks! It’s a mix of a traditionally dressy maxi sequin skirt (mermaid style), an oversized sweater paired with a bralette, and metallic oxfords! HOW TO WEAR A MONOCHROMATIC LOOK?

1. Mixing textures, geometry, and prints is always an awesome way to add life to a monochromatic look.

2. It doesn’t have to be the exact color; you can work within a certain palette of the desired color.

3. Always utilize symmetry; if you are doing something oversized, pair it will something a bit form fitting or show a little skin. This could be a shoulder, chest, legs, or back. For instance, I wore a form fitting maxi skirt with this oversized sweater and paired it with a sexy bralette and showed some bare upper chest.

4. Wear it with CONFIDENCE. I have many unique pieces in my closet that I adore but I generally weird and obscure. I truly get away with a lot because I wear whatever with pride and confidence.

Thank you for your endless support. Recently in the blogging world, a nasty hotel owner decided to be petty and make public a private email between him and a fellow Influencer. If you haven’t seen this story, it’s definitely worth the read. Anywho, long story short, this guy shamed the influencer for kindly requesting a collaboration with his hotel in exchange for advertising via her platform. This has turned into an incredible debacle with a large amount of the hotel owner’s following saying that influencers are “free-loaders” who need a “real job”.

Of course, this got very personal for me and I got all the way up in my feelings. Thankfully, I don’t need to explain anything to you because you are incredibly supportive of my craft (and so many other bloggers) and know my life! You know how hard I work and how much I love blogging as well as nursing. For that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I never take this platform for granted. And to the beautiful queen, Elle, who was recklessly and carelessly bullied, keep doing you boo and working your a** off! We see it and we know what it takes to get there!
